More Info About My Practice
With compassionate listening and evidence-based interventions, I blend therapy with building life skills including time in nature as a resource to create and support lasting change. Sessions may be in the office or outdoors. I like to begin consultations with a few minutes of mindful meditation, this can make our time together more clear and focused. Time spent hearing your concerns and creating when appropriate goals and a corresponding plan of action, and over time a process for assessing your progress.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The style/orientation of therapy, and the relationship between therapist and client are important. A good match can improve outcomes.
To help facilitate the process of deciding if I am a good fit, I offer a First Session Special, at half price, or a free 20 min Meet and Greet.
May you enjoy life's Journey, if our paths cross I look forward to meeting you.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
At it's best the term "Disorder" refers to a cluster of symptoms and can help us identify corresponding treatment. I believe we may better serve each other by expanding our view to include, life being filled with lessons and challenges. We are extremely adaptive creatures who cope in miraculous ways, but without support these challenges may leave us drained, depressed, anxious, overwhelmed or otherwise not at our best. When we have connection and support to help us navigate the lows, we can build skills and restore our resilience. Reminding our clients (and ourselves) of brain plasticity and the possibility to heal and change our brain in so many ways, positively affects our mind, body and spirit. This approach and focus on healing allows people to regain their natural wisdom and can shift surviving into thriving.
