My Approach to Helping
After 25+ years as a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist I have opened the first counseling center specializing in providing psychotherapy to adults and children by teams of professional psychotherapists with their animal partners. I believe in the therapeutic effect that animals can have in healing, and integrate interventions using the animals into traditional therapeutic work. In addition to working with adults and teenagers, I have developed Filial Pet Therapy, an approach that trains parents to use family pets to work with their children with a variety of concerns. I emphasize meeting your therapeutic goals in a cost-effective and timely manner.

More Info About My Practice
I believe in the creative power of healing, and that doing the difficult work of feeling better doesn’t always have to be difficult. Animals bring lightness and hope to the therapeutic process, facilitating the use of humor, creativity, openness, and release. Come meet me and my animal team and see. Research has demonstrated that therapeutic interaction with animals can: facilitate rapport and openness with children, teenagers, adults, seniors and couples; lower anxiety, stress and blood pressure; teach caring, gentleness and healthy boundaries to children; help develop attachment related receptivity; help mitigate anxiety, anger, loneliness, and depression and enhance self esteem.
