My Approach to Helping

Joanna is known for providing exceptional mental health services to adults, adolescents, children and families. She believes It is an honor to witness and be a part of other peoples' stories. She has years of experience treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, sexual problems, substance abuse, and trauma. She knows that trust is built and earned. She takes this stance while working with couples dealing with relationship issues, people who have gone through loss and those with unresolved trauma. Joanna works with many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and questioning adults and adolescents. Joanna is an excellent clinican; she knows all people are unique, valuable and have something amazing to add to this world. In addition, Joanna is a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Texas. Her specialization in this area is the treatment of Sexually abusive adolescents, often whom are also victims of abuse themselves. Joanna's clinical training began as an Art Therapist and she sometimes uses art in her individual sessions. She believes that art can help people express the thoughts and feelings that seem to have no words. Joanna also believes that confidentiality is at the core of therapy and that honesty is central to change.
