My Approach to Helping
I am trained in solution focused, systems theory and narrative therapy approaches. As opposed to psychodynamic approaches which tend tend to pathologize patients, I help the patient to help themselves by identifying their part in the relationship and the patterns of interaction and sequences of behavior that they are engaging in with their partners. I utilize a Brief Family Therapy model which most often encompasses 8 - 10 sessions vs. the psychodynamic therapies which tend to keep the patient in therapy for years. With this post-modern / Solution focused and Brief therapy approach , you will find the communication tools and skills needed to create the loving, committed and successful relationship you want between yourself and your partner.
