My Approach to Helping
"Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there..." Rumi
We each have a natural and innate force that drives us towards wholeness and the fulfillment of our individual and unique potential. I believe that experiences of pain, fear, and abuse lead to a break from our personal experience of the soul, resulting in a deep sense of loss and isolation from self and others. My role as a therapist is to work collaboratively with my clients to remove obstacles that block the connection to a deeper experience of authentic self, and then move towards the realization of a fulfilling and purposeful life.
My eclectic approach includes exploring conscious and unconscious processes through depth-oriented and somatic therapies. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral techniques to address specific symptom reduction. My approach is grounded in a perspective that emphasizes compassion, mindfulness, and authenticity.
Depth Psychotherapy is a practice that best supports exploration of the self and personal growth. In addition to the deep and authentic relationship with clients, I utilize a variety of techniques in my depth approach that include the use of art, active imagination, sand tray, and dream work.
