My Approach to Helping

"Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there..." Rumi

We each have a natural and innate force that drives us towards wholeness and the fulfillment of our individual and unique potential. I believe that experiences of pain, fear, and abuse lead to a break from our personal experience of the soul, resulting in a deep sense of loss and isolation from self and others. My role as a therapist is to work collaboratively with my clients to remove obstacles that block the connection to a deeper experience of authentic self, and then move towards the realization of a fulfilling and purposeful life.

My eclectic approach includes exploring conscious and unconscious processes through depth-oriented and somatic therapies. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral techniques to address specific symptom reduction. My approach is grounded in a perspective that emphasizes compassion, mindfulness, and authenticity.

Depth Psychotherapy is a practice that best supports exploration of the self and personal growth. In addition to the deep and authentic relationship with clients, I utilize a variety of techniques in my depth approach that include the use of art, active imagination, sand tray, and dream work.

More Info About My Practice

I enjoy working with couples and individuals of all ages, cultures, spiritual beliefs, and sexual orientation. I am experienced working with trauma, depressionanxiety, relationship issues, parenting, family and life transitions, including separationdivorce and loss, issues related to death and dying, and childhood abuse issues.

Although I don't accept insurance at this time, I utilize a sliding-scale fee structure that I will discuss in full during a consultation (phone or in-person).

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am experienced and effective in healing the attachment wounds of childhood abuse and neglect in adults. Childhood wounds impact the quality of our adult relationships and can result in confused, conflicted, chaotic adult relationships. I love working with couples, but find that individual therapy can also contribute to positive changes within the relationship. Fulfilling and loving relationships are possible, even if you have a difficult relationship history.
