My Approach to Helping
I focus on two areas: 1. Parents and Families and 2. Adults with Family Wounds or Trauma.
1. I work with parents to develop their own emotional and behavioral management as they work on teaching thier children how to be mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally healthy and responsible for their choices. I work with children, teens, and full families to learn these skills together, process the chaotic experiences of constant change and growth through their developmental stages and social encounters, and practice techniques for resilience and confidence in growth.
2. For adults with family wounds and trauma, I help you recognize dysfunctional coping mechanisms that are no longer helping you survive or thrive. I utilize many techniques listed on this profile along with offering the Neuro-Emotional Technique for releasing the trapped stress of emotional wounds, traumas, self-protective beliefs, and more. I work a lot with parents and young adults who feel stuck in the wounds or mentalities from their childhood and parents. This includes struggles with Narcissistic or emotionally immature parents.
Therapy with me consists of talking things out and examining them, learning about your unique psychology, applying skills and interventions to your life or your family’s lives, examining what is and is not working, and continuing to work and grow until you’re ready to keep doing so on your own. I take a developmental, behavioral, trauma-informed, and relational approach to therapy. I encourage my clients to learn empathetic insight and resilience so they can see themselves as capable of constant growth.
