You can recover

My Story
From my earliest years, I grew up in an environment of abuse and neglect, so I knew from an early age that feeling of fear and insecurity.
Growing up, I determined to be in control, to keep myself safe. So I spent my life always on guard, waiting and watching for the next bad thing to happen and so my anxiety began. For me, anxiety and fear had become the norm; I didn't know any different so I presumed this was how all people lived, but they don't. It wasn't until in 2001 I was assaulted at work by a patient whilst working as a psychiatric nurse that my anxiety finally truly came to the surface. My physical symptoms of anxiety became much worse.
1. Health Anxiety
2. Insomnia
3. Panic
4. Fear of Depression
5. Obsessive thinking
6. Rituals
7. Sweating and trembling
8. Heart palpitations
9. Suicidal thoughts etc.
I began to isolate myself from the world. Even though I worked in the medical field and knew better, I presumed that I had something seriously physically wrong with me. However, after many tests and many doctors, it was proven that I had anxiety. Nothing more. I could not believe how could I have anxiety. But I did and so I set out to change and recover. While I was offered many medications, I was too fearful to take them.
Anxiety is NOT a random, unknown, or uncontrollable disease or illness that you develop, inherit, or contract. Again anxiety is a result of a behavior. Anxiety is not a disease or illness. Don't get me wrong. It feels awful and the symptoms are real and scary but they are a result of the body's natural response to fear.
After I recovered I obtained my Masters in Counselling and have until recently been working at the anxiety centre for the past 9 but more importantly I know what anxiety feels like and have recovered. So can you!
I am now anxiety free and have been for many years and living proof that you can recover. You can be the same. Let me help you move away from anxiety once and for all. Over the years. Why not you?
Why not take a look at the testimonial and read the many real stories of recovery.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

You don't have to fear anxiety. It's a normal response to an abnormal circumstance - the belief something could harm you. It's vital for your survival. We grow anxious when we believe we or someone we care about is in danger. The problem is that anxiety can become a habit, causing some people to perceive danger more often and more severely. This makes anxiety a problem in daily life.

Anxiety is not bad. It's not an illness or disease. It's the result of behaving apprehensively. If you don't want to be anxious, you have to change your behavior. Anxiety can feel random and out of control, but there's actually much you can do to tackle it. The problem is that most people don't understand anxiety, let alone how to fight it.

Anxiety appears for a reason. It persists for a reason, too. Once you address these reasons, anxiety - along with its sensations and symptoms - can disappear. Anxiety is only a problem because it goes unaddressed. That's why taking medication as your sole form of treatment often means being on medication for a long time, or repeatedly starting and stopping medication.

Without addressing the factors that underlie your anxiety, anxiety tends to persist.
