My Approach to Helping
Sophie Greger is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in working with children, teens, young adults, and families. She has experience providing therapy across multiple clinical settings including residential treatment and community care. Sophie brings a caring, professional attitude to working with individuals and families, prioritizing a strengths-based perspective and building upon the skills that fit best into each client’s unique experience. Throughout her experiences as a therapist, she has focused on areas including trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum diagnoses, self-injurious behaviors, adjustment disorders, and oppositional defiance. Sophie received her Master of Social Work (MSW degree) from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a firm advocate for social justice and care equity. Sophie believes in the importance of an open, trusting therapeutic partnership and places the client in the driver’s seat of their treatment. In working with children, she also incorporates parents actively and in a way that maintains the child’s autonomy. Sophie approaches each client's treatment in an eclectic manner by incorporating family, school, and any other prominent support systems. She utilizes multiple treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), play therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing (MI), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Life is full of stressors, transitions, and feelings big and small. Sophie is excited to help you navigate any challenges you or your family may face.
