My Approach to Helping

We are all unique and require a different wellness plan to heal. For over 30 years I have worked with youth, adults, and families professionally and as a volunteer. My experience has provided me with an extensive tool box of interventions and therapeutic modalities in order to individualize treatment that will help you make the connections you need to find balance, growth, and meaningfulness in your life.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe we each have the answers we need to overcome the challenges we are facing. Sometimes it is difficult for us to gain the perspective and vision we need to see our problems clearly because we are too close to the issues. Psychotherapy provides the opportunity for us to increase our awareness and insight into our thoughts and behaviors in order to be able to heal and choose a different way to live our lives. We are all dynamic individuals that are ever changing and seeking balance. As we move through our lives, we acquire new information, wisdom, and understanding through our life experiences. In counseling, I can provide opportunities for growth, acceptance, and self-actualization so you can make meaningful connections to your life experiences in the contact of a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. The decision to seek therapy is an important one. We all have the ability to heal, we just need to find the right therapist to help guide us.
