My Approach to Helping
I approach treatment from a collaborative stance to help individuals make lasting and meaningful change. I believe that all people are capable of reaching their growth potential, and I work alongside each client to help develop an individualized and goal-oriented treatment plan. Because each person brings a unique story and belief system to counseling, I adjust my approach and techniques accordingly. While childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood can be marked with transitional turmoil and adjustment difficulties, I am here to offer help and guidance along the way. I am a firm believer in the power of counseling and coaching to improve your life satisfaction and optimize your personal growth.
I primarily work with preteens, teens, and young adults with a variety of presenting concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, mood changes, ADHD, difficulty with transitions, school troubles, and family dynamic changes. I value being genuine and transparent with clients in order to create a space of safety and trust. I am a directive therapist who utilizes a mixture of both skill-building strategies as well as insight-building techniques. In addition, I focus on acknowledging the humanness of our experience as essential for the growth of the individual.
