Billing and Insurance

Fees: My fee is up to $100 per session. I offer special rates for individual sessions to active duty military, reservists, veterans and first responders if the insurance you hold will not reimburse you for mental health care or care from out of network providers. I do not bill insurance companies. Your plan, if you have one, may reimburse you for our work together. Please contact your insurance company to ask if reimbursement is available. To me, it is most important that you receive the support you need and I therefore also offer a sliding scale that is available to review on my website.

Therapy, in my view, is a collaboration to which we both bring skills and knowledge. Therapy to my way of thinking, doesn't have to be nothing but painful, anxiety-provoking hours, although good therapy does have those moments interlaced with moments of relief, release, and laughter.

Therapy is useful to anyone. We all have blind spots that are best explored, we all have hurts that could be better healed with support, and we all experience rough waters that can be best navigated with some help. I can help you make your life what you want it to be - to help you better understand and accept yourself.

My perspective is that you are more than just what you think and/or do. I also believe that there is a core of strength in all of us that persists even when we feel most helpless and lack faith. In my view, self-understanding is critically important because, once you understand how and why you do what you do, the ways to change what you decide to change become clearer. Self-understanding gives the knowledge to choose more freely and develop a vision of the lives and qualities in relationships you want - including your relationships with yourself. In intimate relationships, understanding each other as well is an enormously important contributor to happiness and stability.

I specialize in working with people who survived trauma including abuse of all kinds, rape, combat, other life-threatening experiences, and unforeseen loss. My approach to therapy is driven by a deep respect for the uniqueness of each of us and our experience allied with a deep belief in our capacity to grow and change. I am a depth psychologist who integrates methods from many models of psychology to tailor our work to you.
