My Approach to Helping

We all face challenges from time to time, whether it be with relationships, anxiety, grief, or a sense of dissatisfaction with where we are in life. These times can feel overwhelming, frustrating and exhausting! It takes courage to reach out for help. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share emotional difficulties, pain, and stress. Together, we can help you move forward, heal relationships, reduce anxiety and accomplish your goals. We can discover your inner wisdom, resources and joy and increase your ability to fully enjoy life. I bring compassion, experience, dedication, creativity and a sense of humor to our work together.

More Info About My Practice

I offer a free 30 minute consultation to discuss goals for therapy and to address any questions or concerns you may have about my practice or the therapy process. I offer a sliding fee scale for clients experiencing financial difficulties.  As an out-of-network provider, I am happy to provide the necessary paperwork to you to submit to insurance for reimbursement. I also work with Victim's compensation cases and Mines and Associates Employee Assistance Program. I limit the number of clients in my practice to ensure that I can be fully present with each adult, adolescent, child, couple and family that I meet with.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My specialty areas include grief and loss, trauma, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I specialize in helping clients who are survivors of sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse as well as traumatic loss and medical trauma. I am passionate about supporting clients through grief, including the death of loved ones, relationship loss and other challenges that involve a sense of loss. I have a master of science in psychology from a CACREP accredited marriage and family therapy program and I have experience and knowledge to help heal relationships, develop healthy boundaries and work with couples, families, adolescents and children. I am certified by the Sandplay Therapists of America as a Sandplay Practitioner. Sandplay, a Jungian-based method, is very effective in the treatment of trauma, early attachment wounding, healing from anxiety, abuse and other issues. For more information please visit my website. I am also an EMDR II trained therapist. EMDR is a research-based method that assists in healing emotional distress and unwanted symptoms resulting from trauma or difficult life experiences.
