My Approach to Helping
Do you want to make lasting positive changes in your life? Coping with the fast-paced world we live in can be difficult. If you feel overwhelmed by the issues you are facing, rest assured that help is available. As a therapist, my goal is to help you overcome your concerns and live the healthy life you deserve. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, so I will not ask you to do or say anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
I have advanced training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and PCIT (parent-child interactive therapy). These modalities are effective in treating trauma and child behavioral issues respectively. I incorporate a trauma-informed care approach when working with each person in therapy.
My clinical experience and flexibility have allowed me to adapt to improvements in the field of mental health care over the years. I am familiar with a variety of therapeutic modalities and will personalize your treatment for the best possible results.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
I actively work to dispel the myth that there is something "wrong" with going to therapy. Rather than viewing going to therapy as a stigma, I consider it a strength. If you are in therapy, then you are acknowledging that it is difficult to be human and it is valuable to reach out for support. For me, that demonstrates self-awareness and willingness to work to improve your quality of life.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
I believe what makes a good therapist is being as unconditionally open and honest as possible? towards oneself and others. I would never assume that I had "all the answers" andor the ability to solve everyone's problems. My approach to therapy is that it is an authentic relationship between to people that is built first and foremost upon trust.
