What's My Approach to Therapy?
I am a therapist who specializes in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with either anxiety, life transitions, complex trauma or spirituality. I enjoy being able to walk alongside others in their life journey and to be a stable and consistent support in their life. I have been in the mental health field for over 5 years now, working with various populations of those who have experienced trauma throughout various forms of life. I also have experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders and those who are also desiring family therapy to address family conflict or stressors.
I often use strength-based modalities that foster a client-centered session in conjunction with certain interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and parts work. I can also incorporate Christian spirituality into sessions as well, if desired.
It is important for you to feel heard and valued in session as you bring what you desire to focus on into the therapy environment with me. We will next work on skills, where you can increase your insight into what you are experiencing, and build confidence to address the struggles you are facing with new tools.
I am a big supporter of a person-centered approach, and I value the individual as someone who is an expert on their own life and just needs someone to help bring that to the surface.
