My Approach to Helping
If you are alone with your symptoms and concerns you don't have to be. I specialize with individuals and couples, helping them to build satisfying lives where relationships grow and symptoms are relieved.
Counseling is your space to understand what keeps life from working and find new ways to thrive. Your goals are the focus as we navigate together what has caused your struggle.
Whether you are depressed, anxious, traumatized, diagnosed, overwhelmed or relationally hurting, I am trained to understand and meet your needs.
I work as someone who engages you, hears you, speaks to you as a real person and gives you vital feedback in an honest relationship.
Symptom relief and deep personal change are possible as we collaborate together.
More Info About My Practice
I work with those struggling with, or affected by sexual addiction and trauma. Often we confuse symptoms with causes. There are behavioral steps needed, and healing that can happen at a deep level. You can build a life that has purpose, significance and substance.
We often experience incredibly hard and traumatizing experiences--this is a safe place to understand your struggles and move past them, whether as a couple or an individual.
I use the evidence based methods of Gottman Couples Therapy, EMDR, EFT, and an interpersonal focus.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Of course! Most of us are unsure or skeptical about the potential for someone else to really help with the turmoil we feel. My approach is honest and open about life and recognizes the tensions we experience. It is a big step to admit the need for help, another big step to seek help, and hugely rewarding to find understanding, compassion and help. I am delighted to have conversations about people's concerns with counseling because it shows how seriously they are taking themselves and their problems. If you are concerned, I encourage you to explore that and I'd be happy to talk with you.
