2 Minds 1 Goal Counseling Solutions is a telehealth counseling practice that you and I will focus on the goals that you would like to see as the outcome of counseling. I am very person-centered as a counseling style which means my you will be in charge of the session while I hold a safe place for you to process and find strength and determination for your own path in life.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I grew up very poor in a home riddled with nontreated mental health and substance use issues. Through the observation of growing up that way and learning through my own life lessons of how important psychotherapy really is by it changing my perspective and mindset of what is helpful and needed when life gets stressful or unmanageable. I have also learned as a therapist the trust I see with my client when they realize that with therapy they can find a safe place to process and work through issues that were not dealt with in a healthy way. When we do not heal and deal with our past issues they tend to hide in the shadows of our minds until we least expect them and can turn our lives upside down by these lost emotions, or flashes of a memory. When that happens and your struggling this is the time to go to a therapist work through what is going on and find a way to embrace the change in perspective, mindset, or life as they comes.
My Role as a Therapist
I have always known I have wanted to be in a place to help others. My role is as a guide to help you develop the skills that you need to process as well as a safe person to hold space when your window of tolerance is too much and need someone to help you learn how to regulate your emotions for those times. I am not here to tell you what to do your life is your life and you are the expert in your life. I help you think outside the box and look at problems, issues, memories from a different perspective.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Counseling can take time to heal as healing does not happen overnight. Because of time restraints, financial issues budget, work, kids, social obligation or what is going on in your life I do not dictate how often or how long counseling will take. In this regard this is why I do not accept insurance as they like to put their 2 cents in where they do not understand when it comes to how long, how often, or how many sessions a client can have. Insurance should note be the dictating factor in your healing process and I don't allow them to be. We would work together to find what is right for your time and your life when it comes to therapy.
