My Approach to Helping
My approach to helping is all about collaboration. With experience in mental health counseling, interpersonal communications, yoga, and experience working in the corporate nonprofit sector, I consider myself a specialist in self-care, stress management, and protecting yourself (or recovering) from burnout. However, I believe you are the expert in yourself and your experience. My goal is to have a give-and-take relationship with clients, where we both actively collaborate in the therapeutic process to help you achieve your goals.
More Info About My Practice
I have a therapy dog-in-training who is present in the office named "Karma." Therefore, please consider this before scheduling an appointment.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe the purpose of psychotherapy is to empower you. I understand that you seek support because you feel stuck. However, my goal is to give you the tools that you need to help become unstuck, to trust your gut, and improve your ability to make decisions that improve your quality of life.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
It's not uncommon to hear me proclaim myself as a "Recovered Type-A personality!" In my professional life, I have worked in large, corporate settings and navigated the dynamics of office life. During this time, I learned that my overachieving personality made me well-suited to taking on new responsibilities and roles. Later, in my mental health career, I was quickly promoted to supervising clinician due to these same qualities.
However, I've learned that everything in life has its pros & cons - including being a driven, go-getting, perfectionist! As a result, I've learned strategies to live a life of balance and protect myself from workaholism and burnout, and now enjoy helping others do the same :)
