My Approach to Helping

Do you feel trapped in old ways of living, or unable to break the spell of these bad habits? Obstacles can be great teachers that enable us to navigate our lives in new ways. I'd love to serve as a witness as you walk your journey, and to offer a sounding board to help you explore what stands in your way. My clients appreciate my sincere and caring approach for achieving inner healing. Whether you're struggling with relationship challenges, depression, addiction, anxiety, or a general feeling of unrest, I'd love to help you!

My approach to therapy is eclectic. I believe that gaining multiple perspectives on a challenge or life event makes it easier to become healthy. I embrace the connection between mind and body, and adopt a holistic approach. While cognitive-behavioral therapy may work for some clients, others are interested in exploring their dreams.

I am licensed as an RN, a chemical dependency professional, and a mental health counselor. This means I bring a broad perspective to tackling my clients' issues. I love helping people who are sick of repeating old patterns, who embrace the possibility of change, and who trust in the perfection of the journey they're on.

I accept Blue Cross, United, and Harvard Pilgrim Insurances; self pay is always an option. If you have any question about this please contact me.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

My perspective is the healthiest response when one is unhappy is to find out what thoughts, beliefs, or concepts may be contributing to this feeling of unrest or unhappiness. It often is a daunting task to accomplish on one's own, as it is difficult to see our own world in any other way then the way it has already been conceptualized unless we get help from another - especially another who is outside our family system and might be able to see more. Learning new strategies and skills and learning to be kind, loving, and accepting of ourselves by taking the time to focus on ourselves in therapy can lead to a healthier and happier life!

Groups I Work With

I work with anyone from the age of 18 on. I particularly like to work with people who are going through transitions in their life. Those times where one questions all the old unconscious programming which was learned on our mother and father's knee - so many very rigid ideas that one tends to live by, keeping us locked in and unable to move forward. It is a challenging time when one begins to question the way we have put together our world, yet a necessary time if we are to free ourselves. To me, this is an exciting time to be a part of anyone's journey, for change opens us up to new possibilities! I would be honored to be a part of your journey if this resonates with you.
