My Approach to Helping
Life is difficult. It can feel that way sometimes or it can feel that way all the time. You might be going through a difficult time right now and need some extra support, or your difficulties may be ongoing and you’d like to try to work through them. Maybe you’ve had a string of difficult relationships and want to figure out why. Maybe you have constant anxiety that you’d like to learn how to manage. Maybe you’re having difficulty managing day to day life in general. Becoming experts on ourselves by learning about ourselves can provide us with the tools and knowledge to work through and manage what life throws our way.
Working from a psychodynamic perspective, I tend to focus on patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that impact our relationships with others and ourselves, how we came to these patterns and how we can change what isn’t working. Through identifying these patterns we are able to work toward shifts that can improve our day to day lives.
