My Approach to Helping

I am a doctoral level therapist with over 20 years experience working with individuals with mental health issues, everyday problems, andor relationship issues.

My approach is a collaborative one which varies with individual needs. I tend to be informal in style and actively engaged at all times. I believe that humor is an essential part of therapy. I further believe that everyone can benefit from having an impartial, insightful third party in their life. I welcome clients who might perceive themselves to be "challenging".

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Most of us "tell ourselves stuff" that is really just a rehashing of early messages that we have received from our caretakers and may not reflect reality at all. This is at the root of low self esteem. I believe I am particularly good at helping people recognize their their negative self images are not accurate perceptions by helping them make connections between how they feel about themselves and the messages that they have received during their childhood years
