My Approach to Helping

My expertise is working with women and young girls. My passion is to support those who may be struggling with stress, anxiety, and mood issues. Life is full of challenges, and I am here to help you or your daughter through them. I strive to create a safe and relaxing space that will allow for the most effective counseling to be had. The best therapy takes place when you or your child can feel a positive connection with the counselor. I enjoy working with parents and children together to facilitate a more healthy parent-child dynamic as well. Now is the time to make a positive change in your life, and I can't wait to join the journey!

My experience in working with children and adolescents is extensive. I have completed a certificate course with Maternal Mental Health, and go above and beyond the required 100 hours of training to be a Board Certified Counselor. I pride myself on learning and growing along with my clients and feel that I learn just as much from them, as they do me.

More Info About My Practice

Therapy is serious, but it should be an enjoyable experience. I want you to look forward to our appointments, and I think my style allows that. The new office has the most amazing feel to it, and the space will be one that is warm and welcoming. I hope that talking to your therapist becomes as routine and normal as treating yourself to something special.

My colleague and friend started Viaggio Counseling & Wellness with adolescents and women in mind. Our minds hold so much power in our lives, so how about you give it the care and compassion it deserves. I hope to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable and that becomes a part of your life. Start your session with a hot tea or coffee, and let's talk!

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

If you are getting ready to start therapy, it can feel pretty overwhelming. Some people are hesitant to start talking with someone because they don't feel like going through their entire life story, or maybe they just don't know exactly what's wrong, but know that they can feel better in life. My process is pretty simple. I talk with my clients about what brought them into counseling, we identify 2 or 3 goals, and then start talking about one of those goals. It's amazing where the conversation will go with that simple format! I am all about digging deep, or just staying present focused andor future oriented. You will lead the sessions, and I am there to guide and see where I can take it. I love to give feedback and perspective which clients appreciate from a neutral person in their lives.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I have heard such horror stories that really disappoint me as a professional in this field. When my client tells me about their bad experience, I really commend them on not giving up. Therapy can be extremely beneficial and it is about finding a therapist that you can build a working relationship with and a comfort level that allows you to open up and address sensitive topics. I am a therapist who doesn't put on a show or an act. I am who I am, and my clients have expressed appreciation for being genuine. I learn from each client, and I have no problem with a client pointing out when I have made a mistake or something came out wrong, in fact, I invite it. Each day we grow as individuals in our professional and personal lives. I invite you to take the journey with me.

Groups I Work With

I am a Board Certified Counselor, and have over 14 years of experience working within the therapy field. I have a passion for working with women of all ages. In the past I’ve supervised mental health hospital programs, and have worked with adults, teens, and young kids in a therapeutic setting. Currently I work as a therapist in a local school, I work with adults in an online practice, and have an in person practice as well. As if being a woman isn't challenging enough, navigating my twenties, settling down in my 30s, becoming a mother and struggling with infertility really allowed me to realize my passion for helping and supporting other women (not just moms!) Whether you are experiencing a "quarter life crisis" or you are navigating the path of teenage life, dating, school, marriage, motherhood, or career, I am here! Every woman needs to have a neutral person in their lives and that’s what a therapist is for!
