My Approach to Helping
For over 28 years, I have helped people transition out out of despair, anxiety, self-limiting beliefs, relationship challenges or loss of purpose. I have been told that people feel I "get them" and that they feel safe working with me. I work particularly well with highly sensitive/ creative people and am happy to help guide anyone into a better life or relationship. I graduated with a Masters from the University of Chicago specializing in individual, couples and family therapy and then received advanced training in Hypnotherapy, Art Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. As a result, I have a number of ways to work with individuals and couples. I offer short and long-term counseling.
More Info About My Practice
My fee is $160 for individual and couples therapy and $50 for group therapy. I also offer a sliding feel scale when appropriate as I am an out-of-network provider. We can discuss this during the first session. My office is near the el, the train and there is free parking in the back of the building.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
It is so gratifying to witness someone who has felt disempowered, anxious or depressed become more confident, calmer and more hopeful. So many people struggle in our culture and I often think that if they just had one person who was patient and kind to them, they would transform. Psychotherapy is not quick nor easy. But, the therapeutic benefits are invaluable.
