Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

I think it's essential for each client to feel comfortable with their therapist, as this is one of the key factors to successful outcomes. I encourage clients to have an open dialogue with me about how they feel being in my office and meeting with me specifically, as I think a strong therapeutic alliance that's based in trust and understanding can help clients to do their best work and meet their personal goals. Clients come to therapy for a variety of reasons and may feel vulnerable when they take the healthy step to enter therapy, which is why it is important for them to feel understood and comfortable with their therapist and the services being provided to them.
