My Approach to Helping
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with influences of Client-centered therapy and Humanistic philosophy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am trained in Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
I have worked with individuals and groups on a variety of topics, issues, and concerns ranging from depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger management, abandonment, attachment, sexual and physical trauma, alcohol and substance abuse to relationship struggles, parent-child relationships, and work-place performance.
In my personal life, I've known and felt the devastation, isolation, and stigma of depression and anxiety and can attest to the strength and resilience needed to face mental illness head-on and fight day in and day out.
