My Approach to Helping
With over 22 years of experience counseling adults, I can help you feel better and find emotional peace and clarity. Often we seek therapy when going through tough times. We want our life to be fulfilling and happy. Yet, sometimes we end up in the same situations despite our best efforts to change. You may be struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, andor relationships. As a licensed psychotherapist in long-term private practice and college psychology professor, I can guide you with experience, wisdom, and compassion to feel better fast. My style is warm, thoughtful, and interactive. I believe that people have great capacity for growth and that crisis is an opportunity for positive change.
More Info About My Practice
I specialize in cognitive behavioral skills for communication, emotional tolerance, rapid anxiety relief, and better access to your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. I also use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). IFS, and mindfulness meditation techniques for rapid relief of stress and trauma. In therapy, we explore your life in order to fully understand you together. We examine how your experiences in life create meanings that can guide your choices and responses in future decisions. We work together to help you tolerate difficult emotions, and understand the unconscious reasons behind your choices. The aim is to create balance in your life and help you make more successful and empowered life decisions.
