My Approach to Helping
The healing process is a journey which involves self-discovery and gaining insight. I am here to be your guide. You will tell me the vision of your destination. Maybe it's, "I want to be a calm and fearless mother" or "I want a peaceful, meaningful life." Together, we will explore the obstacles blocking you from your destination and create a travel plan to help you arrive there safely. You are the expert on yourself, and I listen to you for the knowledge I need to guide you forward.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Entering the professional world and, later, motherhood, I became aware of the hurts within me and how those hurts were impacting my life, relationships, and parenting. Negative thoughts swirled in my mind. I doubted my own abilities and strengths. I knew I needed to face the hurts and emotional wounds within myself in order to move forward with my life.
So, I set out on a journey of self-discovery which included years of counseling, further education, reading books, understanding research, and making intentional changes in my life. It was frequently difficult, often overwhelming, but ultimately rewarding as I began to recognize how the small steps lead to big shifts in my personal, family, and professional life.
I had big dreams to change the world. However, I realized that the only way to heal the world was to heal me first. As I worked towards that goal, I faced my fears, I challenged my beliefs, and I accepted myself and what I needed to change to be whole. Today, I am healthier--more relaxed, gentle, calm, and authentic.
As a result of my own struggles, I gained new insight, resources, and skills that allow me to help my clients move through their obstacles in life so that they can reach their goals and live the vision that they dream for themselves.
