My Approach to Helping
“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do” Brene Brown. My clients are those who are ready and willing to take ownership of their story in a way that feels authentic and empowering. This story ownership often involves self identity work, discovering or reclaiming values, setting boundaries, interpersonal work, learning how to both accept emotions and take action, self compassion, and learning to "come home" to yourself. Common issues I support are anxiety, depression, relationships, pregnancy and postpartum, life transitions, ADHD, perfectionism, and family of origin issues.
I work with individuals and relationships, and focus on offering evidence-based care in a strength-focused and compassionate space. Throughout the therapy process, we will focus on discovering and meeting your goals, processing emotions, and building tools for resiliency and healing.
I believe therapy should be collaborative, transparent, and rooted in human kindness. My counseling is multicultural, trauma-informed, and takes a systemically focused “Birdseye view” of problem orientation and solutions. I tailor my approaches to meet your specific needs, and use warmth, humor, and empathy to create a strong therapeutic relationship.
