My Approach to Helping

I believe in the healing power of relationships. I know people can change their lives for the better and my model has helped many professionals refine skills in high-pressure environments, manage life transitions, and navigate intimate relationships. I work with clients to leverage strengths as a means to overcome barriers to success. If you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stressed, I can help. If you are struggling in your relationships, or with alcohol or drugs or if you are just feeling overwhelmed, I've been there and together we can find the path forward.

Professionally speaking, I am a Vancouver-based Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I received my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and have more than 15 years experience working with individuals and families towards change. As a husband and father of three, I bring a wealth of personal experience and expertise to my work. I understand the complexities that people face in managing stressful relationships and life events. I work with clients to find realistic solutions to the problem. If you are ready to feel happier, more connected and in control, I can help.

More Info About My Practice

Clients say I am pragmatic, direct and supportive. I empathize with where you are at and together we make a plan of how to move forward. We work at your pace, with an eye on the present and the future. Yes, I will ask you about your parents and childhood and get curious about patterns of relationship. This is the best way I know to make sense of where things are at and how they got here so that we can figure out the next steps.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I have always understood the importance of good mental health. Raised by an elementary school teacher and a psychiatrist supporting others during difficult times was a high value in my family. Growing up, my family home opened its doors for many people who needed a place to land, and regroup before they could be on their way. Despite this supportive upbringing, I didn't always walk in alignment with my own values. It was through my own personal work that I discovered the value of gratitude, structure and routine. I have used professional supports to overcome many challenges and found that a direct, down to earth approach worked best for me. I bring my personal experience along with professional knowledge to helping clients find their way.
