My Approach to Helping

I am a very caring therapist with many years of individual, couple and family therapy experience. Have worked successfully with very difficult emotional, cognitive and behavioral clients and cases, including: adolescent problem behaviors, couple and family dysfunction, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, gender identity, HIV/AIDS related issues and gerontologically related issues. I am able to help individuals, couples, families identify and correct problem thoughts, behaviors, and communications through strong emotional guidance and support to help families make their own ways independently. I have many years of experience as a personal coach and counselor. I primarily use Rogerian approacches to build theapeutic relationships, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with individuals and Structural, Strategic and Communication Therapies with families.

I have great sensitivity to critical issues that are otherwise embarrassing to clients.
