My Approach to Helping
I strive to create a relaxed, supportive and positive environment for my clients during each counseling session, because I understand how difficult and scary it can be for clients to disclose personal information. I show my clients respect, honesty, compassion and I listen without judgement. I have 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in a variety of settings which include: Outpatient, HomeCommunity, School-Based, Psychiatric Hospitals and Primary Care Physician Offices. I provide individual, couples, family and group counseling.
I treat clients suffering from anxiety, depression, relationship issues (including LGBTQ & co-parenting) and severe mental illnesses. I specialize in past or present trauma in all forms (sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, veterans of war, natural disasters, unresolved grief). Additional certifications: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
*ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* My practice location has free and ample parking with handicap accessibility. It's on the bus line (Perry HwyCumberland). The office building is discreet for those clients wanting privacy and anonymity.
