My Approach to Helping

I treat a number of mental health concerns, and provide an open space for individuals, families, and couples. I have experience and training working with children under the age of 10 with an array of presenting concerns such as trauma, divorce, anxiety, social skills, physical complaints, and many more. As a member of the LGBTQQIA+ community, I am passionate about working with this community. I strive to provide competent and affirming therapy and have been honored to work with individuals, couples, and families in this community.

I am passionate about working through anxieties, life transitions, depression, self-esteem, and many other life concerns. I offer experiential play therapy for children ages 2-10 and art therapy for all ages, as appropriate. I tend to fit my therapeutic style to the needs of the client rather than expecting people to benefit from a specific technique.

I consult with members of the trans and non-binary community and also belong to play therapy as well as LGBT+ professional communities in Colorado Springs. I also provide animal assisted therapy with a toy Australian Shepherd named Widget. I would be honored to join you on your journey of self-exploration and healing.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I truly believe that if the client and therapist do not have a good alliance and are able to connect, it is unlikely that progress will be made. I attempt to connect with each of my clients and will change my approach to meet your needs. Due to this belief, I provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to answer any questions or help relieve any anxieties you may have before asking you to meet with me face to face. These are by no means required, I just want to take some of the mystery out of the process of therapy.
