My Approach to Helping
I work with individuals ages 12 and up with an array of presenting symptoms. I specialize in depression, anxiety, bipolar, borderline personality (BPD), eating issues, and trauma-related issues. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) in my work with individuals, as well as attachment theory and psychodynamic theory when necessary.
My ideal client is one who is presenting with issues that are interfering with different aspects of their life, whether they are experiencing issues with motivation due to depression, overthinking due to anxiety, rapid changes in mood due to bipolar or borderline personality issues, or any symptom that may be a result of underlying trauma. What this client would need from me is validation, reassurance, and a safe space to freely express their experiences and emotions. Their goals would be to ultimately heal from or better manage their symptoms with my aid.
I can help clients by providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for them to express their concerns, symptoms, or life in general. I empathize with my clients for what they are experiencing while also providing solutions to any challenge at hand. I specialize in talk therapy that allows the client to explore and reprocess past experiences that may be impacting their mental health and wellness.
