My Approach to Helping
My name is Karina Morales and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in the Latinoa Communities from Pepperdine University. I have experience in working in clinics, community-based outpatients, and detention settings. I have a passion for working with others and assisting them in re-writing their stories and utilizing necessary coping skills to manage and evolve during difficult times.
My specialty areas include depression, anxiety, abuse, neglect, trauma, adjustment issues, divorce and separation, stress management, personal growth, coping skills, and so much more!
I approach therapy with client-centered perspective in which I focus on genuineness and empathy. I assist my clients in separating themselves from their problems, assist in giving their stories meaning, help shape their identity and discover their life purpose. I also approach therapy by helping my clients connect their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Not only do I aim to re-write my client’s story, but I also highlight their strengths.
I have experience working with teens and adults utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness practices.
