My Approach to Helping
Are there patterns in your relationship that you want to change? Unsuccessfully trying to let go of things that happened ages ago? Wrestling with relationship dynamics? Maybe you're just feeling bad (or angry, or frightened, or trapped). The essence of my work is to understand my clients. I want to "get" what has been going on with both of you and to help you move forward. Yes . . . forward. Therapy is not just about going over the past. I firmly encourage my clients to consider more expansive views of themselves and their “stuck” relationship patterns.

Together in treatment, we talk. We problem solve. We work to get past the prior experiences of being hurt, disappointed, or misunderstood that rightfully make us want to protect ourselves. You will be active participants in the work and we will review and evaluate what we accomplish together.
