My Approach to Helping
Listening with empathy, and exerting cultural competency are inviting traits for a therapist. Yet, the therapist observes and assesses the individual and the situation, offering a plan of action. A collaborative plan where the client gains a sense of ownership, with clear and achievable goals, streamlined in time, and with measurable objectives.
My Therapy Focus
Poor sleep, restlessness, living out of control, emotional numbness, ruminating about being unlucky, nothingness, these excessive worries are some of the experiences a client deals with. Mostly these issues arise during non-favorable relations with others, like in bullying, arguments between partners, family members, oppositional children, atypical development. Goals for recovering health: learning new life skills, increasing the sense of mastery on dealing with daily life issues and situations, practicing solutions to increase functionality. All because increasing functioning is healthier and increases the quality of life.
