My Approach to Helping
My approach as a therapist is mindful, nonjudgmental and respectful of each person's individual unique experiences and needs. Over the past 30 years of being a therapist, I have come to believe that my job is to provide a safe and supportive environment, conducive to emotional healing and going beyond your perceived limitations. I am committed to staying up to date with the most current and effective techniques and research in the field to assist with the process of change. Some of the approaches I am trained in are EMDR(Eye Movement Desensitization, Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
Goals for therapy are determined collaboratively during the first few sessions. It may involve focusing on issues or experiences that are occurring in the here and now or processing unresolved negative beliefs that were wired from childhood or developed as the result of a traumatic event in your life. I believe we are given all that we need to heal and transform our lives. It is my job to help you discover your own innate ability to overcome and resolve whatever is getting in your way from living the life you desire.
