My Approach to Helping
Jessica C. O'Brien is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida who has over 10 years of experience working with clients of all ages seeking assistance with a variety of challenges and concerns. She is currently accepting clients 18 years of age and older. Jessica earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Florida and has worked in a variety of settings, including a college counseling center, community mental health agencies, and private practice settings.She uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused therapies to work together with clients to create personalized goals and treatment plans aimed at helping them make the changes they’d like to see, including living a healthier, more satisfying, and self-directed life. She also has experience working with clients who would like to include their spiritual, religious, and faith beliefs in counseling. When participating in therapy, it’s important to find a counselor with whom you feel comfortable and can openly share the challenges you are facing. Jessica is committed to fostering a respectful and safe therapeutic environment where you can be your authentic self as you work towards making changes in your life. She views the counseling relationship as a partnership in which the client is the expert on themselves and the best outcomes occur when both she and the client bring their respective knowledge and expertise to the therapeutic relationship.
