My Approach to Helping
While I work with a wide range of issues in my work with individuals, I specialize in helping those who are experiencing anxiety or difficult situations in their lives, as well as those who have a recurring sense they "should be doing things differently" somehow.
My aim is to offer you a safe and open place to explore these passages... wherever you are, wherever you've been, and wherever you're going. I work to support you in a kind, nonjudgmental space to attend to all the parts of you that you want to explore.
More Info About My Practice
We typically meet for forty-five to fifty-minute sessions on a weekly basis. Session length and frequency can be increased, and this is up to you.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
*Women Across the Lifespan: young women coming into their adult selves; women in mid-life experiencing changes in their bodies, moods, values and hopes; aging women reflecting on a life lived so far and looking to the life ahead of them.
*Meditators: I offer psychotherapy for meditators seeking more individual and psychological exploration. Therapy combined with a meditation practice can lead to greater insights both on and off the cushion, and I love to support folks on this path.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Sometimes just being a human can be hard. Our relationships, both personal and professional, can be very complex. The myriad changes we go through across the lifespan are also complex, with each stage of life bringing its own set of distinct challenges. Urgent matters, transitions, and trying to change old habits that no longer serve can be daunting to navigate alone. In my view, psychotherapy is about not being alone in all this complexity. It's about sitting with another to explore your own unique experience of life and to get help working through your unique challenges. My intention as a psychotherapist is to help you discover what you need and want in your life right now and to accompany and assist you getting there.
