My Approach to Helping
I believe that everyone is capable of great courage, and we all have a remarkable ability to change. As your therapist, my role is to guide you along your journey and provide you with the necessary skills to overcome challenges. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where together we can tackle the issues that hold you back from living the life you want to live. I use a variety of therapy methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Yoga-psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Greetings! My name is Juanita Davis and I am a yoga psychotherapist and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). Yoga psychotherapy combines therapy and body movement to relieve depressive symptoms, anxiety, as well as the physical issues that accompany these conditions. I am committed to helping women cope with major life transitions and manage the anxiety, fear, and depression that often accompany these adjustments. I also enjoy treating postpartum depression, women?s issues, emotional eating, and work and family challenges.

My advanced training in yoga psychotherapy allows me to integrate breathing techniques, body movement, and talk therapy to resolve emotional and physical issues. Not all my clients find themselves in odd yoga poses on a mat, but each session with me includes body awareness techniques, breathing exercises, and healthy thinking.
I believe the body and mind are strongly connected. Your feelings and thoughts may manifest in physical ways, and vice versa. As a former mentor once said, ?the issues are in the tissues.? In many cases, emotional concerns manifest in physical symptoms such as headaches, breathing issues, heart palpitations, body aches, stomach upset, and fatigue. Complete recovery from depression and anxiety requires both cognitive and physical adjustments.
