More Info About My Practice

Hello! I'm Juanita Davis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and yoga-psychotherapist. Yoga-psychotherapy integrates body movement and therapy to alleviate not only the emotional symptoms of depression and anxiety but physical pains and weaknesses that often go along with them as well. I am passionate about helping women manage life transitions and heal from the depression, fear, and anxiety that accompany these changes. I especially enjoy working with women's issues, including emotional eating, postpartum depression, and balancing family and work.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As a skilled Yoga-psychotherapist I combine body movement, breathing techniques and traditional therapy to alleviate not only the emotional symptoms of depression and anxiety but the physical pains and weaknesses that accompany them as well.

Not everyone who works with me will find themselves twisted in odd positions on a yoga mat, but therapy with me always includes breathing exercises, body awareness, and learning healthy thought patterns. This is because I believe that mind and body are intricately connected. Your thoughts and emotions manifest physically and vice versa. As my yoga teacher once said, "the issues are in the tissues." Often emotional distress will manifest as physical problems such as heart palpitations, shortness of breath, headaches, stomach upset, fatigue, and body aches. In order to experience true relief from anxiety and depression changes in your physical body and in your cognition needs to occur.
