My Approach to Helping

Text or call me if you ready to make changes in your life for personal growth or to make your relationships better. Change can be challenging, but small steps toward goals make it easier. Are you experiencing a stressful situation right now in your life where you feel you just want to talk to someone? Are you fighting a lot with a loved one or having a hard time after a break-up? Do you have frustrations with coworkers or trouble communicating with family members? As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst practicing in the Mission Viejo area, I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
Whether it's difficulty getting along with a loved one, financial worries, problems with co-workers, or emotional ups and downs, most people have something in their lives that they want to work on or change. This works best with active participation from you as well as a trusting relationship with me. People say that I am very easy to talk to and that they feel safe when sharing with me. I love being able to provide support and watch people strive to meet their goals using the action-based strategies given during sessions.
I offer assistance with relationships of any kind (spouse, boyfriendgirlfriend, siblings, roommates, coworkers, parent-child, family). My behavioral background has given me the experience of teaching parenting skills and coping skills for difficulties in all kinds of relationships.

More Info About My Practice

I recommend patients begin with weekly sessions to target the changes they want to make on a regular basis and make consistent progress toward their goals. As patients start to meet their goals I will recommend that they switch to biweekly sessions. Once goals are mastered we discuss a maintenance plan and I see them once per month a few times to fade out my support. I encourage effort from my patients in their own work as well as their ability to assess their own progress. I welcome any feedback on changes they want to make during the therapy process.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

When working with individuals, I love watching them transform their lives from feeling helpless to feeling hopeful. We set goals together and I see them make progress with their goals. I enjoy watching their continued growth and being able to help them.

When couples come to see me, sometimes they just need that extra help to see eye to eye and try to work harder to stay together. Other times, they realize that parting ways is best for both people involved. I really enjoy being a non-biased party who offers ways to process what is going on with your relationship and help you see what changes can be made if you want to make them.
