My Approach to Helping

When someone asks me, "Why did you become a therapist?" The answer, "My passion is wanting to help people." They key word is passion. Every place I have worked, has given me a rewarding experience. My work experience has ranged from hospitals, outpatient facilities, to private practice within a 5 year span. When you work with people as a therapist and they have completed the program. On their last day, they talk about how far they have come working on their issues. There is no better experience then seeing them happy and excited for the future. In my experience most people come to counseling because they feel stuck emotionally and have difficulty moving forward. Moving forward is one keys to living a happy life. Ask yourself these questions, "Are you tired of holding on to the past? How are you letting your past ruin your future? What future do you want for yourself?" Unfortunately we do not have the ability to go back and change our past. With every day dawn breaks, tomorrow is a brand new day. You can choose to stay stuck emotionally and repeat the cycle by not being happy. Or you can choose to face your issues head on, and prove to yourself that you are stronger then realize.

As a therapist and life coach, it is not my job to do the work for you. My role is to encourage, challenge, provide support, and to assist you to eventually overcome issues. Think of me as someone who is spotting you at the gym. While you are pushing the weights off your chest, my role is to help you with form and encouraging you to do more sets. As your therapist, we work as a team. Meaning that I provide my experience, knowledge, and tools. You provide the readiness to work and willingness to push yourself. Our goal in therapy, is to break our chains from the past and to move forward.

More Info About My Practice

Currently I am building a practice called "Positive Approach Counseling", is a mental health service that offers online counseling Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm, in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. I have an office in the Frisco area where I offer face to face counseling at the Center for Marriage and family Counseling. The hours of operation are Friday to Saturday from 9am - 5pm. Positive Approach Counseling focuses on people who suffer from past trauma, and provides life coaching while providing counseling services to the community. As an organization we are very passionate about our service to the community. Our mission is to educate, inform, and provide people with the best quality of service. We look forward to speaking with you and "lets find your positive approach to life."

My passion is to work with people who suffer from trauma. To work with people who suffer from trauma is a very rewarding experience as a therapist. People who have worked with me were very successful in counseling. However that success is due to them being ready for counseling. And willing to discuss their most difficult issues. As an individual who seeks counseling. They have come to a place where they are ready to move forward and put in the difficult work that comes with counseling. The question that I pose is this, "Are you ready to work hard for the results you want? And if so, what are you prepared to do? How far are you willing to go?"

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy does not mean you are weak. Going to therapy means that you are ready to move forward with your life. It means that you have suffered enough from your past. And willing to look to a brighter future. It means that you are ready to face your issues no matter how difficult. And most importantly, it means that you are have come to a point in your life where you recognize you are unhappy. Engaging in therapy takes strength, and you are strong.
