My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor and specialize in treatment of stress spectrum disorders or mood disorders with or without a co-occurring substance misuse issue. I believe in resources beyond pharmacology and that have proven long-term effectiveness. My approach to helping others is to be purposeful and genuine, taking care of myself in order to be available and present in the therapy session. I believe in working to develop a trustworthy experience including directness and clarification following assessment. I also believe in presenting treatment approach(es) and recommendations to assist the individual to have informed choices as s/he chooses to engage in the process with the goal of developing the resources to move beyond the formal treatment setting.
