My Approach to Helping

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor and specialize in treatment of stress spectrum disorders or mood disorders with or without a co-occurring substance misuse issue. I believe in resources beyond pharmacology and that have proven long-term effectiveness. My approach to helping others is to be purposeful and genuine, taking care of myself in order to be available and present in the therapy session. I believe in working to develop a trustworthy experience including directness and clarification following assessment. I also believe in presenting treatment approach(es) and recommendations to assist the individual to have informed choices as s/he chooses to engage in the process with the goal of developing the resources to move beyond the formal treatment setting.

More Info About My Practice

I accept most insurance plans and work with the client at the first appointment to understand the financial impact of the treatment being recommended. I work collaboratively with a team of professionals within an agency setting which allows for a broader set of resources on which the client and this clinician can draw to provide the most comprehensive and aggressive treatment opportunities.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Stress and trauma related issues including PTSD. Also highly skilled in the assessment and treatment of co-occurring substance misuse issues.
