My Approach to Helping
You've always been the strong one, but lately you lie awake at night...worrying about the safety of your friends and family, the mistakes you made today, whether you are a better parent than your parents, and how things have changed with your partner. For years you have tried to be a perfect mom, companion, and daughter, but always feel like you should be doing more and never measure up. Now your kids are getting older and you realize you can't protect them from everything, you don’t know who you are or what you want, and your relationships are different than they used to be. You feel insufficient and emotionally overwhelmed.
If you woke up tomorrow and your life was just the way you dreamed, what would that look like? Would you know you are enough, as is, and demonstrate that by taking guilt-free time for yourself or setting limits with loved ones? Would you tell your partner what you want and be intimate - with the lights on? Maybe you would finally be content and fulfilled.
