My Approach to Helping
We are all just humans living life together and nobody should have to feel any shame, judgment or fear about reaching out for support when they need it. Change and progress take time, and I help others appreciate and celebrate each tiny little step forward. Life is a journey and there will never be a moment where any of us wake up and know we definitely have everything together. I believe that we should always meet ourselves where we are at. Healing and growing is courageous, and taking steps to care for yourself will create a healthier life for you and for those around you. In my practice I value wellness for the mind, body, and spirit. My clients create healthier lifestyles, relationships, and behaviors, as they process, build on their strengths, and develop greater self-awareness and intentionality. My hope is that my clients will find a greater sense of hope, purpose, and peace in their lives, as they heal and grow.
I use an eclectic and individualized approach to psychotherapy, tailoring my approach based on the specific goals and strengths of the client. I am skilled in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, experiential, mindfulness, expressive, and feminist psychotherapy approaches. Those may include Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy.
