My Approach to Helping
During the Covid-19 crisis, I am happy to provide video-based therapy (teletherapy) using a professional, secure, HIPPA compliant telehealth platform.
The intention and focus of my work is to help my clients get to the root of their difficulties in order to feel better and suffer less. To this end, I work with clients in an active way to cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration, compassion, self-understanding, and healing. The work can be challenging and may require facing things that may be uncomfortable. Facing what we tend to avoid is an aspect of psychotherapy which is not given enough attention in our culture, yet holds the greatest potential for change.
I am extensively trained in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), and experiential therapy that has been shown through research to be effective. Some of the issues I work with include social anxiety, low self-esteem, mild-severe depression, chronic low mood, chronic anxiety, medically unexplained symptoms, attachment trauma, angerrage acting out, and difficulties with intimacy and relationships.
I am here to help. Please feel free to contact me to answer any questions you might have or to set up an initial visit.
