My Approach to Helping

I have 12 years of experience counseling adults, teens, and children as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My clients say I am easy to talk to, and they appreciate the accountability I provide for them to move toward their goals. Whatever you need in session, we focus on whether it be a space to talk about stressors and have an empathetic person witnessing what you are experiencing or steps to move onward. I have a Humanistic approach to therapy and have successfully guided people in learning and applying practical coping skills. I can assist you in tapping into renewing emotional states to manage depleting moods.
I offer a safe space to share your thoughts and let go of unhealthy patterns. Often people come to me and want to upgrade their mindsets to be more present and develop a more extraordinary ability to focus on what they value in life. They want to increase task completion & move towards their full potential. They are interested in being less critical of themselves, maintaining a healthy schedule, and growing self-confidence. My clients often deal with life transition stressors, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, workcollege stressors, burnout, & ADHD. We can set weekly goals for you, and I offer guidance and assist you with accountability to reach your goals.
My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Inner Child Therapy.
I'm passionate about helping others and have successfully counseled many people since 2010. I enjoy assisting people in reducing their critical voice within & updating their mindset to access their compassionate brains. We can customize tangible coping skills to mitigate stressors and move you towards living a more valued life!
We work collaboratively to help you erode patterns that no longer serve you and develop more balanced ways of being. If this sounds like a good fit, please get in touch for an appointment.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

My view on therapy is about having good Emotional Hygiene. It's like having good dental hygiene or sleep hygiene. Having a healthy & practical system for our mental well-being creates more room for the things we value in life. We all need a safe space to share and sort things out. I believe regular therapy can be a great way to keep away the toxic emotions we can all get bogged down with. We got a lot coming at us as humans. Lots of stressors. One of my favorite quotes is, "When the "I" is replaced with "We," even Illness becomes Wellness." Malcolm X
