My Approach to Helping
My approach is to meet you where you are in your healing process and to help guide you to new perspectives and resolution. To create a trusting relationship, I maintain a non-judgmental attitude towards what we are working on together. My openness to your personal recovery is met with genuine curiosity and compassion as we explore underlying limited beliefs and relational patterns.
When I decided to become a licensed mental health counselor, my motivation was to become a thorough and non-judgmental listener and "feedback-giver" for people who may be struggling on their life's path. Throughout my career as a therapist, I have developed a passion for counseling people in need of guidance. I also like to help people with relationship issues. I work with individuals and couples to meet established therapy goals.
I am currently in the process of becoming a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT). EFT is based on attachment theory and is proven to be one of the most effective relational therapies currently available. This approach especially helps couples enhance their emotional connection and/ or overcome their relationship distress. In the EFT approach, each partner expands their own awareness and ability to tune into their partner.
Giving guidance is my life's purpose. I am open to all orientations of clients. My role is to facilitate a conversation about anything you're facing at the moment: grief, trauma, anxiety. I am a good listener and can provide effective feedback. I look forward to meeting you.
