More Info About My Practice

I realize with the fast pace lifestyles we lead that it is sometimes hard to fit into traditional daylight appointments. I am available three evenings a week, as well as, four days during traditional hours. I currently hold an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and NCC (National Certified Counselor). I accept most insurances and payment plans are available for self-pay clients. Telehealth services can also be provided. I offer traditional 45 minute appointments and 25 minute appointments.

My Role as a Therapist

I am a facilitator of exploration, growth, knowledge, and change. As a therapist, I am there to help point out areas of conflict to a client, as well as be a support for my client. I am committed to helping my clients achieve his/her goals.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

In order for therapy to be effective, there needs to be a strong, healthy, positive rapport between counselor and client. Counselor and client need to have a mutual respect for one another and be truthful during sessions, otherwise, counseling will not be effective. When entering into a therapeutic allinace with my clients, I want them to feel safe and empowered. I realize that it takes time to build rapport with people, but I work very hard to build a positive alliance with my clients. At times, as a counselor, I will be pointing out and discussing things that may be hard to hear for my clients. During sessions when this occurs, I always work with my clients so that they leave the counseling session on a positive note.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Therapy is an ongoing process. In the beginning, we typically meet every week to every other week, however I do not want to ovewhelm my clients and therefore, we decide together on a meeting schedule. As I said before, therapy is an ongoing process, there may be times where clients need to be seen less frequently but I always suggest to clients to have a "check up" session every several months when things are going well. We typically have physicals for our body, and we need to treat our mental health the same way to avoid major issues.
