My Approach to Helping

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulties managing stress? My focus is on providing a caring, non-judgmental and safe space for clients to share their stories and work through their challenges. I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” method to supporting clients, and trust the client is the expert of their own life. I also understand the importance of developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship and strive to help my clients to recognize their existing strengths, while acknowledging their unique needs, priorities and values.
When working with you I will utilize an integrative approach. I often involve Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Acceptance Therapy techniques in order to support you in setting goals and developing the coping strategies and tools that will allow you make long-lasting positive change.
It can be hard to start the process of therapy - especially when we feel overwhelmed - but it’s worth it. You are worth it

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My diverse prior work experience--in education, hospital and community health settings--has provided me with opportunities to support children, youth and adults with various mental health difficulties, as well as cognitive and learning disabilities. In addition to my primary practice areas I developed a particular interest in working with undergraduate and graduate students as an intern counsellor in the University of Toronto Accessibility Services office. This experience helped me to develop a passion for supporting students as they adjust to new challenges, learn to manage stress and incorporate self-care into their daily lives.
