My Approach to Helping
I have always been a big advocate of jumping into action and finding ways to address problems through concrete, focused strategies. I also honour the important need to foster compassion, validation, and understanding as a foundation with my clients before this occurs. I am available to help adults presenting with a broad array of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, ADHD, relationships, and life purpose. I also have a specialized focus on helping clients with chronic pain, chronic illness, and disability. I am honoured to take part in the change process with anyone open to doing deep personal work.
I am a former athlete who now experiences limited mobility due to chronic illness. This transformation has given me a better understanding of the experiences of others with a wide range of different abilities. It has also provided me with the tools and perspective to better help others who are encountering significant life changes or barriers to well-being.
I know that there is sometimes a hesitation to seek help due to shame, uncertainty, or sometimes procrastination. For some people, they have been waiting their whole lives to take the first step to speak with a therapist and open up about their problems. I'm here to make the experience as natural and comfortable as possible. Don't hesitate to reach out!
